Today my 4th grade students who were on the skype exchange from last week, presented their homework.
They put their thoughts and impressions together.
It is in Japanese but it will be interesting to have a look at their papers even if you don't read Japanese.
They wrote down the russian words for the things we learned.
They were surprised that Russia has the same type of pencil sharpener as Japan
And that seaweed looked like a duster!
They realized how great it is to show things that are common to us but not to others, and got a new idea of their own surrounding.
They loved the dance together,
And they want to try to dance the Russian dance .
"The samowar and balalaika are so beautiful!" One girl said.
They found it funny and interesting that there were technical overlappings.
This was especially great feed back for me, as it concerned me. Great to hear that kids take it much easier.
They all want to meet again, with more questions quiz and dancing together.
So, we are really looking forward to September.

I only had a couple of students in my monday group this week so we did something different. I'm a big fan of kids literature and stories so we do quite a few activities based on books. Anyway it wasn't intended this way but both kiddos really wanted their japanese friends to see it! I hope that's ok! That was their first lesson on days of the week- still I talk Way too much in this video- at least it' s in english!

Dacha
Alexis and Zoe,
thank you very much for the beautiful video.
I've also used this book a lot but this is a new idea.
Now, I have nothing from ourselves right now, and I will think wether and what we can do during summer, but here is something from Juan Carlos in Bangkok, he wants me to share with you.
I will put it on the blog tomorrow, too.
