Thanks to everyone who joined my teacher training last weekend.
I am so grateful for all of you. It was a very special time.
You know I have been doing teacher trainings for more than 10 years now; I have had seminars with over 70 teachers and I love them all.
However this time was special and different, because it was the first time ever that I invited to a teacher training invited organized and held only by me myself.
I am very proud that there were teachers from 4 prefectures the furthest being IBARAKI prefecture in Northern Kanto!!!
I really hope you had a good time in the lodge as well, though it was a bit cloudy and you ended up without swim in Lake Biwa.
The contents in short:
once a year show by my students, with all parents (and some grandparents) attending.
Hang out with teachers, my cameraman and actually my family came too.
Starting up with a time race writing down questions and problems in teaching.
Solved a few of those by doing 90 minutes of German class.
I think it made everyone feel what students might feel like~and it opened up some eyes.
Then we had some 'difficult class examples', and exchanged ideas about how to work with groups that have an inconsistent attendance, (like public school or afternoon school etc)
German lunch with German Bread, Dutch Cheese, pickles and a surprise Paella by my husband in my classroom. So, here I showed all my closets and drawers, materials and tricks...
A few card games: AGO, Let's make a question,
Then afternoon was time to move:
Harry Potter game,
RPS Hajiki game
We ended with an exercise showing us how our mind tricks us and makes us think things are just one certain way, though actually there are at least 10 other ways~~~and about some personal 'law of attraction' stories~(a law that seems to be a boom right now in Japan; for me, it has been with me since I was born, so it is nothing that has to do with psychology or lots of practice)
6 hours full action and it was still far too short.
Anyone else interested in a workshop like this? Please get in touch.
Jun chan, Haruka san, thank you for all your help, picking up services, etc.
